But there's a deeper reason I'm here.
I have been passionate about computers and problem solving since childhood. This led me down a path of constantly seeking new challenges that I could solve with technology. This became my craft.
At 19, I received my first credit card. It felt like a superpower—instant access to money that would give me the flexibility I needed and let me achieve goals faster - like building my credit history. What wasn't made sufficiently clear was the true cost of borrowing that money.The following years were spent struggling to repay a seemingly endless cycle debt. I never questioned why my balance barely decreased despite regular payments. No one explained the concepts of minimum payments, interest rates, due dates, or the long-term consequences of what was a seemingly normal financial transaction, taking out a credit card. There was no system in place to make this process more manageable.
This experience shaped my career trajectory. I entered the fintech industry, motivated to address problems related to personal finance. After many valuable startup experiences, I took a new very rewarding role as the founding engineer of the leading Open Banking platform in MENA, where I developed crucial engineering and security expertise—and eventually where I met Yas.
Whilst I was looking for my next challenge, I spoke to Yas and he outlined the problem he aimed to solve, I immediately connected with it on a personal level. I realized my earlier experiences with finance wasn't just my individual story, Yas practically had the same experience, also at 19! And upon deeper investigation, it represents a massive issue affecting millions of lives. I felt compelled to contribute to building the solution, which led me to join Incredible as their CTO.
Incredible is a UK-based fintech startup building an automated repayment platform for borrowers and lenders, on a mission to create a fairer financial ecosystem. Addressing the scale of this challenge requires carefully designed, secure, and scalable systems—precisely what I'm passionate about developing. As we peeled back the layers of complexity of credit, we found there is much infrastructure to build that doesn't exist, yet.
At Incredible, we're not simply creating another financial application. We're building a foundation for financial clarity to help those who need it most. More specifically, we are building the underlying payment infrastructure required to solve a problem that impacts millions of people globally, starting with the UK.
